Hello My Name Is...
Caroline Souza
Hello! My name is Caroline Souza and it will be my 6th year teaching McConnell Elementary. Before teaching, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC and have since earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Emphasis from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN.
I am so happy to be a third-grade teacher at McConnell Elementary. Third grade is the BEST grade! Multiplication, fractions, the solar system, and Tennessee history are only a few of the exciting things we learn about in third grade. My favorite subject is reading, we read many different texts to build on our reading comprehension skills.
Outside of school I recently completed the Public Education Foundation Leadership Fellows initiative. I am currently a Tennessee Educator Fellow with State Collaborative on Reforming Education.
I have two wonderful dogs, Bartlett and Ro. I enjoy taking walks outside with my dogs. I love being with friends and family, trying new places to eat, and reading a good book. When I get a chance, I enjoy traveling near and far. Watching TV or cooking a new recipe keeps me busy, too as well!
